A manufacturer of steel ploughs produced blades of polished steel. The challenge was to protect the blades while in store and on delivery to the customer.

The solution

The customer spray applied a single layer of C-215 solvent based peelable coating. Especially for this customer the clear coating was dye tinted to give a bright cosmetic finish.

C-215 was applied by conventional spray to apply a 50 micron thick easily removed coating.

The result

The plough blades could be stored for several months before delivery to the customers. These were often exported including as deck cargo. Once delivered to the customer, the C-215 coating was simply peeled off to reveal perfect rust free blades.
