For more than forty years, Kommerling UK Limited have been developing release agents to support their Cilbond bonding agents that are used to bond various elastomers, such as rubbers, urethanes, silicones and fluorinated polymers to metals, plastics and other elastomers.

Coating Technologies Limited (CTS) became the UK Distributor for the Cilbond bonding agents and release agents in 2017 and have developed a close relationship with Kommerling UK Ltd.

In 2022 Kommerling transferred the release agents business to CTS in order to concentrate on their core business of bonding agents.

For CTS, who already manufacture PVA based release agents for the composite industry, this is a natural progression and an opportunity to expand the company “know how”. The expanded range of products now includes water based wax products that are widely used in the friction industry (and particularly in brake pad manufacture), silicone products (as liquids and aerosols) for use in urethane and rubber moulding, and glycol based products for tyre manufacture.

CTS release agents are sold via distributers around the world.
